The Pope Assures Muslims of Solidarity During Ramadan

 

Pope Francis has called for peace between Muslims and Christians in the interest of global peace and development and in honour of the holy month of Ramadan. The pope also stated that the Catholics are fasting alongside the Muslims. This statement was made by the pope at his Vatican Ramadan message titled; “Message for the Month of Ramadan and ‘Id Al-Fitr”.

“We guarantee you of our prayerful unity in this month of Ramadan and the celebration of ‘Id al-Fitr that concludes it, and we extend to you our heartfelt best wishes for serenity, joy and abundant spiritual gifts.”

The statement signed on behalf of Pope Francis by Jean-Louis Cardinal Tauran and Bishop Miguel Ángel Ayuso Guixot, President and Secretary of the Christians and Muslims: Caring for our Common Home (MCCl) respectively.
