Pentecostal Fellowship Of Nigeria (PFN) Inaugurates New Executives

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) Lagos Chapter has inaugurated its executives.

The inauguration ceremony took place last Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at the Foursquare Gospel Church, Yaba.

The event was sort of a reunion and a show of support to the Christian body as several ministers of the gospel both young and old filled the venue.

Speaking at the event, Archbishop Joseph Ojo, the General Overseer and presiding Bishop of Calvary Kingdom Church International and PFN national chairman urged the body to provide effective Christian leadership.

The preacher talked about “the length Christians can go in positioning the country for greatness adding should they speak in one voice. He also called on church leaders to give room for others to learn and succeed

He said; “We need leaders that will help others to grow, leaders that will hold the rope. Idahosa set the ladder for others to climb.

While addressing the new PFN executives, he urged them to “provide leadership for others to come up. Provided opportunities for others to climb, there is space upstairs; even upcoming generations can climb over the ladder. I challenge us to give those under us the ladder to climb.

The cleric also counselled the senior ministers not too look down on younger ministers but carry them along and prepare them to take over the baton.

Delivering the inaugural speech, Bishop Sola Ore, the reelected Lagos state chairman of the PFN, who would serve for four years alongside other executives called on Christians to unite and not relent in praying for the release of Leah Sharibu who is still held captive by the Boko Haram sect on the account of her faith.

“The continued abduction of Miss Leah Sharibu should continue to spur us to pray for her release. We request President Muhammadu Buhari to secure her release before we go to the polls in a few months time. Our unity and togetherness at this point in our national life are very important. It was the American poet and inspirational writer, Mattie Stepanek who said, ‘unity is strength…When there is teamwork and collaboration, wonderful things can be achieved,” Ore did say.

Rev. Felix Meduoye, General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church also tasked Christians on active participation in the electoral process.

The Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, represented by Hon. Seye Oladejo, Commissioner for Special Duties, commended the body for their role in ensuring peace in the state and the active participation of members in governance.

“Prayers are important in elections but PVC will make the prayers more realistic,” he said.
