Christians who have been called into ministry will be trained by powerful men of God, such as Pastor Poju Oyemade, the Senior Pastor of Covenant Christian Centre, Rev. Sam Adeyemi of Daystar Christian Centre and Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of the Kingsway International Christian Centre, KICC. The training which is the second stream of the ICPMLW convention starts from the 6th to the 8th of September at Iganmu, Lagos.
Pastor Poju said: “A man who is called by God into ministry must understand that the word “calling†has four usages or should we say four things he will need to pay attention to.â€Â
“The first is that he has been called into an office. He must recognize that. Second, he has been given a specific task by God, something he must accomplish. Thirdly, he has certain responsibilities apart from the assignment he has received. His office puts him in a position of influence to which he must seek to live by the principle that all things may be lawful but not all are expedient. He has to provide things honest in the sight of God and man. Lastly, he must know he shall one day give account to God for the work that was assigned to him and the lives placed under his jurisdiction.â€Â
The Clergy who posted on his Facebook page said: “It is with this sense of purpose does a man separate himself in answer to the call of God upon his life. Ministry is based on exact principles but it is also an “artâ€Â. It requires the knowledge of the doctrine of Christ but also sound judgment in the things that are not spelt out in black and white in the scripture. Like Paul said of such things in 1 Corinthians 7:25â€Â
“Now concerning virgins, I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.â€Â
He had earlier on said in 1 Corinthians 7:6 “But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.â€Â
