CSMC spiritual leader to FG: Seek foreign assistance to tackle insecurity

The Spiritual Father and Chairman, Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC) Worldwide, Baba Aladura, Prophet Samuel Adefila Abidoye has urged the Federal Government to seek foreign assistance to tackle the spate of security challenges, including insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, among others, facing the country.

He made the call while addressing the journalists in Bauchi on activities lined up for the church’s 81st international conference/convention scheduled for Galilee land, Orilegbon, Oyo State.

Abidoye, who pointed out that there had been enough blood shedding in the land, which had made Nigerians not sleep with their two eyes closed any longer, said apart from not being able to travel freely across the country, there is nothing shameful seeking foreign assistance or collaboration towards stopping these wanton killings.

While saying that urging the government to rise up to the security challenges, Baba Aladura declared that after lots of dialogues, it was high time for real action.

“We as a church are not unmindful of the continuous bloodshed in some states across the country which is very worrisome.

“Boko Haram, kidnappings, armed robbery, and other insurgents continue across the country unabated and these have led to the shedding of the blood of innocent citizens of the country. Enough of these killings and blood-shedding.

“Nigerians now find it difficult to travel at their convenience; we can no longer sleep with our two eyes closed. There is fear to go to our various offices and other businesses just because of the fear of the terrorists.

“Government, especially Federal have had enough dialogues with our traditional rulers, religious leaders, security agencies and other stakeholders. This is the time for real action towards smoking out these terrorists from their various hideouts,” Abidoye said.

He said since the Federal Government said it had the names of those behind insurgents and bandits and their sponsors, it should go ahead and publish such names, adding that those should be made to face the law.

“Those arrested should be prosecuted and let the law takes its cause immediately to serve as a deterrent to other criminals.

“The Presidency has said that it has names of those behind the insecurity across the country. What patriotic Nigerians are waiting for is the publication of names of those involved including their financiers for justice to reign and for the nation to move forward,” he said.

He further admonished that there should be no sacred cows as far as this is concerned and therefore, anybody found guilty should not be treated with kid’s gloves.

While lamenting that despite attaining independence 61 years ago, Nigeria is still crawling with not much to show, Abidoye declared that the country had the potential for greatness.

“Nigeria at 61 is still crawling with not much to show for its Independence. It is the duty of all stakeholders to stand up and face the reality of making it great.

“We have the potentials and human personnel to transform the country and so, our leaders should act decisively and if there is any time to act to make Nigeria great, it is now. I pray that there will be peace in Nigeria and the World at large,” he said.

Ahead of Saturdy’s poll in Anambra State,  the CSMC worldwide spiritual leader called for a free and fair election. He also called for the same in next year’s elections in Ekiti and Osun States ahead of the 2023 general election.

He submitted that government should ensure there was “peace of mind and peace in the land if not there will be general apathy towards these elections, including the 2023 general elections”.

He lamented killings in Anambra ahead of the governorship election, described the situation as worrisome and attaining a dangerous dimension.

“Violence in some parts of the country, especially in Anambra where elections are holding soon had cumulated to serious security challenges as the spate of killings are worrisome and attaining dangerous trend.

“As a nation and human being, shedding of blood is not things to be condoned, life is sacred,” Baba Aladura said.

He, however, enjoined eligible Nigerians to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voters’ registration exercise to register, adding that they should also come out during elections to exercise their franchise.

“We should also be wise, shun money politics, thuggery, and vote for credible candidates in future polls,” Abidoye added.
