Assemblies Of God Women Marks Double Celebration

It was a glorious service and indeed a double celebration last Sunday at Assemblies of God Church, Aboru I in Lagos when the Women’s Ministries (WM) Department of the church, rounded off their annual week with a service and dedication of the renovated Pastor’s villa.

The annual event that always gives women opportunity to take charge of all activities in the church was held with series of programmes that were centered on the theme, ‘Sacrificing For The Revival Of His Glory’.

Though it was a women’s anchored programme, it reminded the entire members of church and visitors the importance of sacrificial service to the things of God.

In her message, Mrs. Blessing Promise Obasi, the wife of Minister-in-Charge and the WM Coordinator, charged women and other members of the church to contribute sacrificially to the service of God. She hinted that nothing was too much when it comes to giving and serving God.

Obasi said for the glory of God to manifest, every individual must make a sacrifice. She encouraged the women to cultivate the habit of sacrificing their time and resources to God. She reminded them of the woman who poured the costly oil on Jesus at Bethany.

“We are familiar with the story of that woman in the book of Mark 14 how she poured expensive oil on Jesus. Who knows whether the oil cost her entire annual savings? But, she gave all. In same vein I encourage all of us to act and keep acting likewise,” she encouraged the congregation.

Responding to the women’s gesture in giving the Pastor’s villa a facelift, Rev. Promise Obasi blessed the women for walking the talk.

“I am grateful for this beautification of the house of God. It shows you are not just talking but acting according to what you preach. Beyond this, I would like everyone to continually put into practice all the lessons learnt in this WM’s week. All your labour in the God’s vineyard will not be in vain. May He strengthen you to remain faithful to His work,’ the clergy stated.
